Nest Creative Spaces is a Community Interest Company run as a non-profit Social Enterprise.
Our aim is to provide affordable space for creative people to work, teach, learn, sell, chat or just get some ideas and meet other like minded people. Our open plan facilities encourage collaboration and inspiration within a supportive, friendly and social environment.
NEST originally came about when 2 creative ladies met as part of a group called Arty Folk, who met to discuss ideas and possible options for bespoke art facilities in the town.
Rachel was urgently looking for studio premises and Tracie was looking for an alternative career after redundancy and had been a crafter for many years. They agreed to take the leap and formed the partnership of Create at Nest to provide creative studios and teaching space.
In April 2019 Rachel left the business and so the partnership was dissolved.
From 1st June 2019 a newly formed Community Interest Company has taken over the business, Nest Creative Spaces, and this will ensure the services continue to be available.
NEST will continue to evolve from feedback and ideas from our studio residents and visitors.
We welcomes visitors to Nest for workshops, to browse our craft remnant shop or just to have a look around.
The kettle is always on!
We have a range of volunteering opportunities on offer. For as little as a couple of hours you could help out with the remnant shop, show visitors around or take sales from the gift shop, we would love to welcome you onboard!
