Nest Creative Spaces is a Community Interest Company run as a non-profit Social Enterprise.
Our aim is to provide affordable space for creative people to work, teach, learn, sell, chat or just get some ideas and meet other like minded people. Our open plan facilities encourage collaboration and inspiration within a supportive, friendly and social environment.
NEST originally came about when 2 creative ladies met as part of a group called Arty Folk, who were discussing ideas and possible options for creating bespoke art facilities in the town.
Rachel was urgently looking for studio premises to expand her business and Tracie was looking for an alternative career after redundancy. They agreed to take the leap and formed the partnership of Create at Nest to provide creative studios and teaching space for themselves and others in the area.
In April 2019 Rachel left the business and so the partnership was dissolved.
From 1st June 2019 Tracie formed Nest Creative Spaces Community Interest Company. Now being run by 5 trustees, this will hopefully ensure the services continue to be available for the long term.
Our trustees are Tracie Dick, Pauline Cropper, Kelly McIntyre, Aileen Stackhouse & Cat Mackay.
We welcome visitors to Nest for workshops, to browse our craft remnant shop or just to have a look around.
The kettle is always on!
We have a range of volunteering opportunities on offer. For as little as a couple of hours you could help out with the remnant shop, show visitors around or take sales from the gift shop, we would love to welcome you onboard!
