Completed Project
Community Craftivism Project for World Earth Day
Last Update:
April 27, 2022

This year we helped Blairgowrie, Rattray and District Climate Cafe to promote this year’s Earth Day and to show how the earth is heating up.

Earth Day is on the same date every year. It highlights the climate emergency we face and the graphic below illustrates global warming. Earth Day reminds us to look after our planet which gives us everything on which we depend.

We asked and as usual our crafty community rose to the challenge to create a range of items illustrating the rise in temperature that were displayed by local businesses in their shop windows and to "yarnbomb" the Wellmeadow. It has really helped to stimulate the conversation and to bring awareness to this challenge for all of us.

This image shows global warming as a barcode, charting cooler temperatures from 1880, but warming so quickly from the 1940s up to 2020.
